World health organization (WHO)
Part of the UN; improves health for all people;fights and prevents diseases; helps countries meet health standards; ended smallpox, teaches people about the HIV virus.
Peace corps
Volunteers group run by U.S government, now has volunteers working in 77 countries, helps Americans and other world citizens, understand each other; promotes public health; teach people how to use technology for business development.
International committee of the Red Cross (IRCR)
Based in Switzerland;unites efforts do Red Cross and red crescent groups around the world; provides aid to victims of war or natural disasters; maintains a neutral position in wars.
